Gametimer: Control screen time, peace at home

Children spend more and more time behind screens. Not surprising, because digital worlds are attractive. But too much screen time often causes restlessness, fatigue, worse eyesight and… discussions. Gametimer changes that.

Instead of prohibiting, Gametimer provides clear agreements that are adhered to. This makes it even more fun at home.

Why Gametimer works

No struggle, but structure
Children operate the Gametimer themselves. This makes them feel responsible and they want to keep to the agreements.

Playful and educational
The colorful hourglass with lights makes screen time visual and tangible. Stopping and pausing becomes part of the game.

Clarity for everyone
No more hassle about what was agreed and what wasn't. Gametimer indicates when it's time to stop or take a break, in a friendly way.

What parents notice

  • Less discussions about screen time
  • More space for outdoor play, friends and creativity
  • The Gametimer is quickly accepted by children
  • Children learn to plan and organize
  • Screen time has become a topic of discussion

How does Gametimer work?

▶ Start (green side up)

Activate the Gametimer: the time light counts down from top to bottom. This way your child can see exactly how much time is left.

⏸ Pause (rotate horizontally)

Need a break? Turn the timer on its side. This way, no playing time is used. The timer gives a pause signal, first every minute, then every 15 seconds.

⏹ Stop (red side up)

When playtime is up, a signal sounds. Your child turns the red side up to close. Only then does the sound stop. This is how children learn to end screen time in a neat way.

The app: set the rules together

The accompanying app makes it easy to record the appointments:

• Set playtime per day
• Breaks between sessions
• Daytime (e.g. only between 2:00 PM–8:00 PM)
• Weekly planning with different times per day
• One-touch holiday mode
• Insight into usage (statistics last 7 days)
• Wallet feature: reward good usage with rewards
• Travel Mode: Activate/deactivate Game Timer without app

And: you can manage multiple Gametimers via one app account, useful for families with multiple children.

Why Balanced Screen Time Is So Important

Too much screen time can lead to:
• Poor vision (nearsightedness / myopia)
• Poor sleep
• Overweight
• Less social contact
• Less creativity
• Poorer school results

Gametimer helps to bring screen time back into balance. With breaks according to the 20-20-2 rule (look away for 20 seconds every 20 minutes, play outside for 2 hours a day).

A product that really appeals to children

The hourglass design is not only playful and sturdy, but also psychologically appealing to children. No remote control, no difficult menus, but a clear, physical timer that they can operate themselves. Gametimer is always right, which creates a nice dynamic between parent and child.

What's in the box?
