General questions
Gametimer does not turn off screens.
The goal of Gametimer is to start a conversation with your children and prevent discussions about screen time.
Children are allowed to operate the Gametimer themselves, this creates support, they learn to organize and plan within the agreed playtimes. Turning off screens is counterproductive to our philosophy and will lead to more discussion and quarrels.
Gametimer is not about setting hard boundaries, but about creating awareness about screen time.
When the time has expired, the Gametimer can no longer be used. The Gametimer gives clear audio signals when the time has been used up and can no longer be set to GREEN. Children know when the playing time has expired. After this, give the child the opportunity to end the game in a proper manner. (see “5 tips” on our website)
It is better to purchase a Gametimer for each child, multiple Gametimers can be connected to the App.
Age, school hours and other obligations are different for every child. In the weekly clock it is possible to set a different program every day. The Gametimers have different colors so that children can choose their own color.
Technical questions
• It could be that you have set the holiday times but the holiday mode is not on. It could also be the other way around, that you have adjusted the regular times but the Gametimer is still in holiday mode.
• Check if your smartphone or tablet's Bluetooth is turned on.
• Make sure you are within range of the Gametimer.
• Check if the Gametimer is charged
• Check if an update is available, go to 'Settings'->'Connected Gametimers'->'Update'.
If the Gametimer keeps beeping, this could have several causes:
• The Gametimer is activated outside the active hours. The Gametimer will not work and will continue to beep. You can change the active hours per day.
• The Gametimer is in mandatory break
• The set time has elapsed for the day.
• First check whether the Bluetooth on your smartphone or tablet is turned on.
• Make sure you are within range of the Gametimer.
• If you manage the Gametimer with multiple phones, only 1 phone can be connected to the bluetooth at a time. When you turn off the bluetooth of the connected phone, the other phone can now connect in the app.
• Check if the Gametimer is charged.
• Close the app and reopen it.
When you need to install multiple Gametimers, you will see 2 serial numbers during the installation. Tap on one of the serial numbers, then you will see that 2 green lights will light up for 1 Gametimer. Select your color and complete the installation. When you tap on 'New Gametimer', the Gametimer you just installed will no longer be listed here and you can install the other Gametimer(s).
• The Gametimer update may take a few minutes. Do not touch the screen, do not disconnect Bluetooth or WiFi and stay close to the gametimer.
• If the update is interrupted, you will receive a failure message. 2 red and 2 green lights will remain lit. Follow the steps below: 'Gametimer shows 2 red lights and 2 green lights'
1. First check if the Bluetooth on your smartphone or tablet is turned on.
2. Make sure you are within range of the Gametimer.
3. An update needs to be done.
Go to the Gametimer app'Settings'->'Connected Gametimers'->'Update'.
The charging time of the Gametimer depends on the adapter you use for it. Normally this takes between 10 and 15 hours. After that, the Gametimer can be used for 30 days without charging.
In the Gametimer app under 'Timers' you will see an airplane on the right. Tap the airplane to turn the Gametimer off (in airplane mode). After turning on 'Airplane mode' you will see 'Travelmode' in the display, with the installed firmware version below it. When 'Airplane mode' is on the airplane will be colored orange in the app.
In the Gametimer app under 'Timers' you will see a palm tree on the left. Tap the palm tree to put the Gametimer in 'Vacation mode'. After turning on 'Vacation mode' the Gametimer will give a signal. When 'Vacation mode' is on the palm tree will turn orange in the app.
• If you cannot change times, turn 'Holiday Mode' on/off or turn the sound up or down in the app, 'Airplane Mode' is probably on. In the Gametimer app under 'Timers' you will see an airplane on the right. Click on the airplane to turn 'Airplane Mode' on or off.
• Check if your smartphone or tablet's Bluetooth is turned on.
• Make sure you are within range of the Gametimer.
• Check if the Gametimer is charged
• Check if an update is available, go to 'Settings'->'Connected Gametimers'->'Update'.
