Privacy & Cookie statement

This privacy and cookie statement was last amended on 13 August 2019.

We process personal data through the Gametimer app and through the website www.gametimer.com
(both operated by GT Enterprise B.V.). We respect the privacy of our visitors and users and we ensure
that the personal data that you provide are handled confidentially. As such, your personal data are
processed in a secure and controlled manner.

Our privacy and cookie statement in brief
We comply with the requirements set out in privacy legislation when processing personal data. Among
other things, this means the following:

  • We state clearly for which purposes we process personal data. We do so by means of this
    privacy and cookie statement.
  • We store as few personal data as possible and only store those data that are required for our
    purposes
  • We take the required security measures to protect your personal data. These obligations are
also imposed on parties that process personal data on our behalf.
  • We respect your rights, such as the right to inspection, rectification or deletion of your
    personal data.

How we use your personal data

Getting in touch and customer service
Whenever you send us an email or get in touch with us using a contact form, your name, email
address and messages may be used to respond to your request or question (agreement) and we will
keep your details on file until we believe that you are completely satisfied.

Whenever you phone our customer service team, the conversation may be recorded for training
purposes. This will be brought to your attention during the call. In this way, your question or complaint
may be used as an example during internal training sessions and can contribute to helping us improve
the customer service we provide. We have a legitimate interest in improving the customer service we
provide. You may object to your call being recorded and/or used for training purposes at any time. If
you do object, please let our team member know at the start of the call.

Purchasing the Gametimer
The Gametimer is available for purchase on our website. When placing an order, your name, address,
email and billing details are processed in order to finalise the order and to ensure the delivery of your
purchase. We have a statutory duty to keep the billing details on record for a period of seven years.

Using the Gametimer app
The Gametimer app is available for download from Google Play or the Apple App Store. Once you have
downloaded the Gametimer app, you will be asked to register as a main user and to create an
account. This requires you to list your name, email address, home address, language and the password
you have chosen. We will also ask you to enter the personal data of the gamer (the child) who will be
using the Gametimer. These consist of the name (which can also be a username), sex and age (birth
month and year) of the child. These data are processed in the context of the performance of the
agreement for the use of Gametimer.

Various features are available in the app, depending on which option you have chosen. The standard
option allows you to enter gaming hours for your child, to manage those hours and to link the app to
the Gametimer. Neither the Gametimer nor the app has to be connected to the console itself. There
are more features available, depending on what paid option you have purchased. These features
include being able to gain insight into your child’s gaming behaviour through statistics and graphs. This
will, for example, allow you to see whether their gaming habits have increased or decreased over a
given period, among other things. You will even be able to compare your child’s gaming behaviour
with other children of the same age, for example in other regions. On top of that, you will be able to
add both multiple parents and multiple children to the app.

These data, including the statistics and graphs on your child, will be retained until you terminate your
account. We only share anonymised user data with third parties (please see the ‘Sharing personal data
with third parties’ heading for more information).

Information for kids (the gamers)
Using the Gametimer means we are able to track your data as a gamer. Your parents will enter your
name, sex and age into the app and the app will then keep track of when and how long you play. Your
parents will be able to modify these data and review them in the app until they cancel the account.
The data will be processed in order to carry out the obligations of the agreement with your parents for
the use of the Gametimer. The ‘Privacy’ heading below also applies to you as a gamer.

Newsletter
If you would like to keep up to date with the latest developments, special products and offers, please
subscribe to our newsletter. If you do, we will register your email address. We will only send you the
newsletter with your consent. Every newsletter contains a link with which you can unsubscribe.

Security
We have taken appropriate technical and organisational measures against loss or any form of unlawful
processing (such as unauthorised inspection, impairment, alteration or provision of personal data) in
connection with the processing of personal data to be performed.

Sharing personal data with third parties
We will only share your data with third parties in cases where this is permitted under current
legislation, i.e. where we have a ground for processing your data or where we contract a third party as
a supplier. We may also share personal data with third parties if we are legally obliged to do so (for
example, if the police so demand in case of a suspicion of a crime). The parties that process personal
data on our or your behalf include:

  • IT suppliers and providers;
  • payment service providers;
  • cookie providers;
  • telecommunications service providers;
  • consultants and intermediaries.

In addition, we may also share the anonymised user data of your child (no names, only the gaming
hours and possibly their age and place of residence) with third parties for research or for commercial
purposes. As an example, these data may be used to gain an insight into how much time parents will
on average allow their 13-year-old children to spend on gaming in a given region.
